Kayihura’s Muyenga Home Sealed Off Trending Uganda has learned that the residence of fallen Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura in Muyenga has been sealed off by heavily-armed military forces and Counter Terrorism personnel just after he was airlifted from his country home in Kasagama in Lyantonde to Mbuya. Over 20 security operatives are searching Kayihura’s home both inside and outside. Defence spokesperson Richard Karemire was seen at Muyenga and when asked by our Trending Uganda reporter Hadadi Mubiru asked him why the army had sealed off the place, he jokingly told journalists that they have just come to pay a visit and are doing their job just like the journalists are doing. While his house is being searched, Kayihura is allegedly currently being quizzed by his boss the Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi at the General Headquarters- Mbuya. WE HAVE HIM: Chopper Picks Kayihura From His Home To Face His Boss – Army Confirms The UPDF spokesperson say that a chopper that was sent to pick former IGP Kale Kayihura from his home in Kashagama, Lyantonde district has returned with the former police boss on board. “General Kale Kayihura is still a serving officer of the UPDF and has been staying in Kashagama- Lyantonde District since 15 March 2018 after handing over office of Inspector General of Police.” “Yesterday 12th June 2018, he was asked to report to the UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi at the General Headquarters- Mbuya. A helicopter was subsequently dispatched to transport him from there but on arrival, Gen Kale had traveled to Mbarara and so it had to return to Entebbe Airforce Base,” The army statement reads. Kayihura Could Face Court Martial After Security Chiefs, Museveni Meetings President Museveni has allegedly okayed Kayihura’s prosecution before the general court Martial according to some security and media sources. Security sources have just told the Grapevine that there was a meeting today at the army headquarters in Mbuya chaired by the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Maj Gen David Muhoozi, attended by top army officers. After the meeting, the minutes for the meeting were rushed to president Museveni at State House in Nakasero. Among the resolutions was to try Kayihura before the general court martial. The source added that the president okayed the resolutions from the meeting. Though the charges to be preferred against the former police boss are not yet known, there are Security and media reports that his dealings with Rwanda and the murder of police mouthpiece AIGP Felix Kaweesi could be on his charge sheet. Kayihura is currently still under ‘detention’ at Mbuya being quizzed by the CDF. His Muyenga home has been sealed off by heavily-armed military forces and Counter Terrorism personnel. Sources have also told this website that more Kayihura right hand men have been arrested. These Include: Col. Atwooki Ndahura, Richard Ngabwoine and ACP Herbet Muhangi (flying squad).
